Suriname
The Lutheran congregation formed in 1741 in Paramaribo was a congregation formed by Dutch settlers. In the same year Lutherans in Suriname received permission from the directors of the Suriname Society to practice their religion according to the teachings and confession of the Lutheran church and to establish a congregation. It remained under the jurisdiction of the Lutheran Consistory in Amsterdam, Holland, until 1819.
