1550: Primož (Primus) Trubar (1508-1586), “Slovenian Luther”, published a Protestant Catechism in Slovenian, creating thus the Slovenian literary language. The Reformation started to spread in the territory of today’s Slovenia. A phrase from this Catechism, Stati inu Obstati ("To Stand and Withstand"), is inscribed on the Slovenian 1 euro coin.
