The ideas of the Reformation gained ground in Bohemia and Moravia, in the territory of today’s Czech Republic, since the beginning of the 16th century Reformation movement. Those ideas latched onto the movement of Jan Hus begun in the 15th century. The Bible of Kralice (Bible kralická), translated by the Unity of the Brethren and published in 1577, was the first complete translation of the Bible from the original languages into the Czech language. Czech language is also said to be the one into which Luther’s works were translated most frequently during his lifetime.
